Ein Puppenheim - August Strindberg

August Strindberg's story from 1884 can be read as a reflection of Henrik Ibsen's play "Nora or A Doll's Home", which premiered in Copenhagen in 1879. The feminism of the time runs through his entire oeuvre and established the author's reputation as a "misogynist". He polemicized against the ideas of equality using various means. Nevertheless, he became a meteor of a new language on the stages of Europe, particularly with his plays. In the story of the elderly Captain Pall and his falling out of love with his much younger wife, two worlds are revealed that are increasingly incompatible.
